Hygiene and food safety is paramount to Whitakers manufacturing and this is demonstrated via a comprehensive quality management system. Processes and procedures are designed, continually updated and communicated to all personnel so that they understand the importance of meeting statuary legal and customer requirements.
Quality Assurance Certification
The Quality Assurance System is certified against the British Retail Consortium Global Food Standard (BRC) and Whitakers Chocolates Limited consistently achieve high standards via audits. This achievement also meets the requirements of customers and consumers, whilst senior management reviews the effectiveness of the system on a regular basis and ensures that adequate resources are provided.
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Whitakers adopt a HACCP management plan which facilitates continual improvement of food safety and quality management alongside identifying potential hazards associated with each process step.
The company have developed a system for managing allergens which may be present within raw materials and whilst efforts are made to eliminate or minimise these allergens, strict control via supplier approval ensures that identification is sought and advice can be given.
Identification and Product Traceability
Whitakers are able to trace all raw materials and packaging from our suppliers through manufacturing and despatch to our customer and vice versa by endorsing processes and effective monitoring.
