Whitakers Chocolates have been producing fine British chocolates for over 135 years, it’s a passion that runs through the Whitaker family. We use only the finest and natural ingredients and use traditional methods and family recipes to ensure our chocolates taste as good today as they have always been.
You can buy our full chocolate range online at whitakerschocolates.com but if internet shopping isn’t your thing, you can also find our chocolates in most independent retailers, farm shops and deli’s. We also sell our fondant creams range through larger retailers such as Iceland, Poundland, B&M and Booths Supermarket (seasonally).
Yes we do! We have 55% Dark Couverture Chocolate called ‘Easymelt’. This versatile product is available in 2.5kg resealable pouches filled with mini shards that are perfect for melting, moulding, enrobing, dipping, decorating and flavouring.
No, none of our products contain Genetically Modified (GM) ingredients. To make life easy, against every product listed on our website we have included full ingredients and allergens details too.
Yes we do. In-fact the majority of our product range is Gluten-Free! We have a gluten-free section on our website to make your search easier. Plus, all individual products are clearly marked as GF within the product details as well as being clearly marked on the product packaging. Look out for the Gluten-Free logo on the back of pack. Whitakers Chocolates believe in doing to right thing for the environment and people. That's why we made a conscious decision in introducing Fairtrade Cocoa into our product range. Working with our cocoa and chocolate partners to enhance the safety and wellbeing of children and families in the cocoa farming areas. Whilst also promoting a zero tolerance to child labour with our supply chain. All of our boxed chocolates and gifts use Fairtrade Cocoa and carries the Fairtrade Trademarks - look out for the logo on the front of our packaging.

Whitakers own branded chocolates are not Kosher certified, however, we do produce private label Kosher products for specific customers as we hold the relevant Kosher accreditations. If you are interested in finding out more about these specific Kosher products, please get in touch with us.
We are proud to offer an extensive range of vegan chocolates. In fact, our vegan range is growing all the time. All our dark chocolate products are Vegan Society registered, so look out for the Vegan Trademark on the front of our packaging. We also have a dedicated section for vegan chocolates within our online shop.
We tell you all you need to know about our products and what goes into making them. By law all food producers have to declare ingredients, allergens and nutritional information on the back of the packaging. We go a little further to keep you safe, and publish all ingredients and allergens online against each of our products on our website.
We are a nut free factory, however, we can’t always guarantee that where we source our raw ingredients from don’t come into contact with nuts, so as an extra precaution, we declare nuts as an allergen (‘may contain’) on all our products. If you have any questions or queries regarding allergens, we are here to help, so please contact our team with any questions big or small. After all, it’s best to always be safe.
Every effort is made to ensure our products reach you in perfect condition, however, we know issues can happen, so if an item is damaged or faulty on arrival please contact us immediately on receipt of the goods.
If you are not entirely satisfied with a product for some reason other than it being damaged or faulty, please contact us immediately stating your reason for the dissatisfaction. If there is a problem with the product we will refund the purchase price or send a replacement, if however we deem the product to be in a perfect condition then we reserve the right to charge the full amount for the goods.
All of our products are made at our factory in Skipton, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
Yes we are 100% UK based. We are a proud, family run British company. The Whitaker family have been dedicated to making fine British chocolates since 1889!
We export our chocolates all over the world, from Austria, Barbados, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Norway, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Uruguay!
We are unable to offer factory tours due to our relatively small size and tight factory health and safety regulations. But you can still get a sneak peek of what goes on behind the scenes by viewing our factory video!

Whitakers Chocolates is privately owned and run by the Whitaker Family since 1889. Today, William Whitaker, 4th generation of Whitakers Chocolates currently holds the position of managing director and chairman.

For more than 135 years the Whitaker family have served the great British public’s sweet tooth. Whitakers Chocolates was founded by John and Rebecca Whitaker in 1889, along with their 2 children. They started life as master bakers and soon discovered their passion for everything chocolate. The family soon became master chocolatiers serving the whole of Yorkshire and the rest of the UK.
