Hot Chocolate Ingredients:
For the Toppings:
Directions
1. Heat the Milk and Cream:
Heat the Milk and Cream: In a medium saucepan, gently heat the milk and double cream over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
Add the Chocolate and Dry Ingredients: Whisk in the chopped dark chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and a pinch of sea salt.
Stir continuously until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Add Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Serve: Pour the hot chocolate into two festive mugs.
Add Toppings:
Top generously with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings.
Add a festive touch by sprinkling crushed candy canes and seasonal sprinkles on top.
Tips for the Ultimate Festive Flair
Extra Indulgence: Stir your hot chocolate with a peppermint stick or a cinnamon stick for added flavour.
Spiked Version: Add a splash of Baileys, spiced rum, or amaretto for an adult twist.
Gingerbread Garnish: Serve with a gingerbread biscuit on the side or perched on the rim of the mug.
Create the cutest marshmallow person (image below):
Get 3 giant marshmallows and 2 cocktail sticks.
Using one of the marshmallows place the cocktail sticks in the top and bottom.
Place the other marshmallows on either stick so you are left with 3 marshmallows in a row.
Get 4 mini pretzel sticks, placing to as arms on the middle marshmallow and the other 2 as legs on the end marshmallow.
Then using some squirty chocolate sauce, decorate the face and add buttons to complete your marshmallow person.
Carefully lower into the top of your hot chocolate!

Had a go at making this over the weekend as the weather was so miserable, my daughter helped making the marshmallow snowman which she absolutely loved! It was a great quick and easy easy recipe to make on a dull day and it tasted amazing, so creamy. This is now our go to hot chocolate recipe!
