The nomination recognises William's outstanding contribution to the confectionery industry.
It celebrates more than 40 years of leadership, innovation and dedication to British chocolate manufacturing.

A lifetime dedicated to chocolate
William is the fourth generation of the Whitaker family to lead the business.
He joined his father, John Whitaker, in 1980.
Since then, he has played an instrumental role in shaping the company we know today.
He has introduced new manufacturing technologies, expanded our product ranges and invested in the future of our Yorkshire factory.
Throughout it all, William has always believed in combining traditional chocolate-making expertise with innovation.
Today, Whitakers produces more than 10 million chocolates every week.
That figure is a testament to the hard work, dedication and vision that have helped the business evolve over the decades.
